Workshop Topics

Workshops can be hosted or sponsored by any coach, individual, skating club or organization and are appropriate for all ages and levels of ability. Coaches are invited and encouraged to attend.

While the specific workshop content is tailored to the group attending, these are some of the topics of information they will include.

• How to achieve artistic body line and style, including on-ice arm movement exercises for grace, strength and flow, as well as leg and foot positions.

• Adding vitality and spark for a more appealing performance.

• How to interpret musical mood changes within a program.

• Stylizing footwork or moves to fit the character and flavor of the music.

• How to make a "standstill" step work.

• Effecting transitions from one element to another.

• How to become more interpretive and creative.

• How to feel and project self confidence.

• How to create a masculine look and how to create a feminine look in movement and body line.

• Yoga exercises for skaters

• Stretch exercises, Pilates, Warm-up exercises and cool down exercises for skaters - both on and off the ice.

• Ice show figure skating techniques, including;  Jumps and Spins, Audition Requirements, How to Apply Makeup and Figure Skating Costuming for attractive body line.

• Lectures on muscle recovery and sports nutrition.

• Private skating lessons and individual choreography are also available.
