Q. Does Jill like to choose the music and choreograph "from scratch", or would she prefer to put the finishing touches on a program?
Either way works well. In certain cases the technical coach has chosen and edited the music. At times, the coach has designed the pattern with elements before Jill stepped in to choreograph. Jill always works closely the the coach in terms of content and technique.
Q. What levels of skaters does Jill work with.
All levels, including adult skaters.
Q. What style of movement does Jill specialize in?
All styles, from classical Ballet to Country Western and everything between, including Rock, Jazz, Spanish and Asian.
How long does it take to complete the choreography of a program?
The amount of time varies with each student and situation.
Q. Will Jill travel to the skater's location to work on a program?
Yes, many times Jill has traveled to to the skater, but more frequently skaters have been coming to Jill for choreography and to spend "quality" time in the scenic Lake Tahoe area.
Q. How are the workshops conducted?
The workshops are run in a similar way as dance classes. They are held both on and off the ice and the students are physically quite active throughout! A great variety of music is used as the skaters learn to interpret different movement styles. The workshop topics are designed to meet the needs of each individual club. Q. How many levels can attend?
All level of skaters are invited to take part. The levels are generally divided into separate groups.
Q. What is the maximum number of participants per group?
The maximum size is 25 students per group.
Q. Are coaches allowed to attend?
Coaches are encouraged to attend and participate!
Q. May parents watch?
Yes, absolutely.
Q. Can a single coach or individual sponsor a workshop?
Any coach, individual or skating club can sponsor a workshop.
